Broken Pencil

Broken Pencil describes itself as the magazine of zine culture and independent arts. Whcih is pretty much all we needed to know to be interested. The magazine is available in print and on the web and is, frankly, really rather good.

My favourite of the many super articles on the site is this one about Toronto’s poetry vending machines which totally confirmed my impression that Toronto is THE place to be for the arts.

Broekn Pencil is also behind the really rather super Indie Death Match short story comp (above), which you can read about here at the also fantastic Steel Bananas blog.
