No Reading Alone

(We have a Facebook page now – do come and “like” us and say hi)

Isn’t there some song that goes “This town ain’t big enough for the both of us”? Well, there’s another new monthly literary night in town, and I have a feeling this particular town, Oxford, is plenty big enough.

No Reading Alone, at the Isis Tavern from 7.30 on Friday 1th January, is a very different beast from what we do, but it looks like a very super event, and I’d have said that even if the lovely organiser guy hadn’t said er, OK then when I rudely barged in saying oi gotta space for some transgressive poetry.

There promises to be poetry, a powerlifting comedian, but I’m most excited of all that the uber-fantastic Paulina Pukyte will be there. Anyone who didn’t catch her at the Jericho Sessions last year, her observational sketches of English life seen through Lituanian eyes are pant-wettingly funny
