A very special special edition

So by now you know the June 1st is Launch Day for Penny Goring’s The Zoom Zoom.

And as Penny is one of the most extraodinary, original, brilliant writers on the planet, you’re VERY excited. But here’s something to send that excitement right over the edge. There will be a special edition. A one-off VERY special edition.

The Zoom Zoom is a collection of short fiction and poetry.

If you’ve been to one of our live gigs, or heard about one, you’ll realise we have an in-house stationer, the amazing Lucie Forejtova of Immaginacija, who hand-stitches wonderful journals in her workshop in the Albion Beatnik Bookstore.

Do you see where we’re going yet?

Lucie has made a series of 15 hand-dyed, acid-free papers just for us. Each one of them will be used to cover a hand-stitched chapbook comprising one of the pieces from The Zoom Zoom. The set of 15 handmade chapbooks will be contained in a handmade box, also made and covered by Lucie.

I hope you agree that’s rather exciting.

Still not sure quite how to price it or whether to offer it for auction, or what have you. Details on that score to follow. But one of you lucky fans of Penny’s will, about a month from now, have this utterly unique (and signed by Penny whilst she performs at Stoke Newington Literary Festival on June 4th) special edition in their eager palms.
