Thank you and over to you

For your extraordinary support for The Dead Beat, which saw it reach The Guardian’s Not the Booker Prize shortlist. Full details of what this means including a free commemorative pdf download are on our homepage. Head over there and come back.

Now you’re back, here’s the serious bit. With final voting in mid October and reviews and discussions before then, we basically have two months with people looking at us. That’s as precious to us as it gets, which is where you come in. As you can imagine, we have plans for using that air time, but we don’t want to waste any opportunity, so if there’s something you think needs saying very publicly about the state of literature or the arts in general, let us know. What needs to happen more? What needs to happen less? Who needs a shout out? Who needs a slap down? Tell us and we’ll do what we can!

Any chance you could get Radio 4’s Front Row to interview you? It would be great exposure, and might ask establishment questions. Worth a try? (though maybe don’t hold your breath – BBC not always into taking risks)

There’s an idea. Thank you – it’s definitely worth giving a try!

congrats! Maybe some more noise about self-publishing and DIY publishing? We need all the encouragement we can get on that. Self pubbed writers or DIY pubbed writers are usually looked down at — while indie bands, indie filmmakers, etc. are hailed as true artists!

Sabina, you know I agree with you on that one. Trust me, I’m on it!!
