Verruca Music and Much Much More at PowWow Lit Fest

(We have a Facebook page now – do come and “like” us and say hi)

Saturday 17 September, 1pm-11pm, Prince of Wales, Moseley, Birmingham

We are utterly delighted that eight cuts will be donning many hats at the invitation of the organisers of PowWow Lit Fest in Moseley.

But the most exciting of all such hats is the performing one. At 8.30, we have a half hour slot that we will be using to perform our usual mix of New Libertine mayhem (well, I’ll be reading poetry and prose – who knows, it may be time for a full performance of SKIN BOOK again) and, drumroll drumroll, Stuart Estell will be officially launching the magnificent Verruca Music. Not only is this a chance to get your mits on one of the most brilliant books of the year, and get it signed and goodness knows what else, it promises to be a marriage of words and music to boggle the mind and befuddle the senses, with Stuart accompanied by the band Haiku Salut.

As well as performing, I’m going to be a busy bee. At 4.30 I will be sittnig on a panel of publishers almost certainly stirring the pot more than Gordon Ramsey at a witches’ convention as I explain the eight cuts philosophy.

And at 7pm and then again at 10 I’ll be compering a slam jam bam type literary showdown So You Think You Can Write. Expect fireworks from the floor, and on my part a suitable mix of awkward fall-flat jokes, bizarre poetry, and ill-fitting weirdisms 🙂

You can either buy a ticket for the whole day, or for the evening only (which will encompass our performing and So You Think You Can Write amongst other things)
