We love anything that blurs the lines between spoken word and music, so we are very excited about this event, rought to you by Oxford Contemporary Music (OCM) and Big Village on March 3rd at the North Wall Arts Centre and with support from Matt Sage, the super fabulous guy behind Oxford’s legendary Catweazle.

Full details and tix here.

This is what Speech Project is all about
Using the rhythms and natural melody found in Irish speech, composer and producer Gerry Diver has created a unique collection of new compositions.  The Speech Project features exclusive spoken word contributions from seminal Irish folk musicians including Shane MacGowan, Damien Dempsey, Christy Moore, Paddy Moloney, Martin Hayes and Danny Meehan and archive interviews from Margaret Barry and Joe Cooley.  Key phrases from recorded interviews are the seeds from which his compositions grow into ground-breaking and beautiful works.
